November 8: Day Twelve
Gensan and Alabel

Rest at the Gym, Catechism to visitors

As the previous night was very long, the priest was very tired. It didn't help that he was having colds. So we were thankful that he was able to have a good sleep at the gym on a cot near the Pilgrim Virgin. We, regular pilgrims slept on the bleachers and on the chairs.  We did not wake up early as there was no serious schedule set for the morning.  We prayed the morning prayer individually.

For breakfast. we had bread, little oranges and coffee then had some light exercise:  playing basketball.

At 10:31am, catechism work began for the 17 people who came to visit the Pilgrim Virgin.

At 11:08am, 14 persons were enrolled to the Brown Scapular, followed by additional catechism on the Brown Scapular by Fr. Tim.

At 11:22am, two new visitors came and were engaged in a catechism session.

Back in our mission base at the basement of Rosa Mystica Chapel, 4 Apostles of Mary were busy printing, folding and packing catechism tracts.

The team leader for the Lagao-Davao walk got busy preparing his backpack and checking the supplies for the team.  He made a list of additional supplies needed.

The assistant team leader went with the grub leader to the market to buy additional supplies.

The quartermaster, assisted by 2 Apostles of Mary, organized the supply boxes and the emergency kit. They packed along a portable toilet.

The public relations officer of ACIM-Asia made final calls to the military command to give the coordinates of the pilgrimage.

All the while, we were whispering prayers for the success of the conferences that were scheduled in the afternoon.

13:30h - 16:00h:  Conference on the Militia Immaculatae in General Santos City

As requested by the Vice Mayor of General Santos City, Fr. Timothy Pfeiffer gave a conference on the Militia Immaculatae at the City Council Session Hall.  There were 37 officials and staff who attended and 27 were subsequently enrolled in the Militia Immaculatae.  Ave Maria!

Back in Alabel, people were starting to arrive for the Confession, Mass and Conference.  The Vice President of the Knights of Columbus introduced himself and narrated how the pilgrim statue of Our Lady of Fatima visited the diocese of Marbel in 1954.  He said that he came now to pay respect to Our Lady and to assist at Mass.  Majority in the crowd were adults and many remember the traditional Mass.  They were also aware of the errors of Freemasonry.

At 17:00h: Confession started in Alabel Gym.  There was a long line of people wanting to Confess.

While Confession was being heard, the Rosary was prayed.  There were 188 people who came for the Holy Mass, among whom was the mother of the mayor.

Nothing wrong with the attendance except that we prepared 150 chairs only.  Error of judgment.  Too late to correct.  A number were content to simply stand during the entire Mass and ceremony of enrolment.

Holy Mass ended at 19:25h.  Eight people missed the Mass because they arrived late.

At 19:33h, 108 persons knelt down to receive the Brown Scapular.

At 20:21h, the ceremony for the enrolment to the Militia Immaculatae started.  There were 52 new M.I. enrolled.  Ave Maria!

At 21:15h, 10 persons were enrolled to the Brown Scapular.

At 21:20h, 14 persons knelt prayerfully to receive the Miraculous Medal.

At 21:36h, Confession resumed.

At 22:18h, another person was given the Brown Scapular, after learning the catechism.

At 22:51, another 4 persons were given the Brown Scapular.

At half past the 23rd hour, we slept, mindful that we had to wake up at 3:45AM to begin the long walk to Davao. How peaceful it is to go to sleep knowing that on the day that had just passed, we had done our best to serve God and Our Lady.

"Now dost Thou dismiss Thy servant, o Lord, according to Thy word in peace; because my eyes have seen Thy salvation, which Thou hast prepared before the face of all people:  A light to the revelation of the Gentiles, and the glory of Thy people, Israel."  "Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, for He has visited and wrought the redemption of His people..."

"Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.
