SSPX News Archive Thailand 2000 September 5: The district superior spent a few days in this ‘Land of the Smile’ renewing contacts made earlier to bring back Catholic Tradition in this country where Buddhism is still very strong.  Fr. Couture was able to offer the Holy Mass in a parish not too far from Bangkok and to give catechism twice to a group of parishioners. May 19-23: Fr Couture returned to this promising new mission field for a one week missionary journey. He was able to give talks on liberalism and freemasonry to some groups of lay leaders, and even a long 4 hour conference to a group of 15 seminarians on the Catholic doctrine on the priesthood, the crisis affecting it and the solution to it. Moreover, he was able to offer the Holy Mass in a parish church, on the marble main altar. March 9, Bankok: Fr. Loschi flew to this new field of apostolate, for a 5 day mission, to make contacts with some members of the clergy interested in preserving Catholic Tradition. He was able to meet a parish priest who has read a lot and is eager to know more about the Tridentine Mass and the SSPX. January 13-16: Fr Couture spent some very fruitful days in this new battlefield, meeting Thai faithful and also a good number of Filipinos working in Thailand. back to Thailand page
