Dear Father,
Thank you very much, Father.
We are all very grateful for your message which fills us with noble thoughts.
We are departing tonight at 10 pm aboard military truck. We are bringing with us clothes, kitchen wares, boxes of medicines, containers of drinking water and sacks of detergent. We will pick up 20 sacks of rice in Bukidnon, on the way to CDO. We will meet Fr. Tim and his company in Cagayan de Oro tomorrow morning. They are bringing with them shovels, mops, tools, disinfectants on sprayers, foodstuff and clothes.
The first activity will be finding a house which we can use as our headquarters. We probably will have to scrub and disinfect an abandoned house belonging to a faithful. Meantime, we will camp out on military tents. Ma'am Honey will join us tomorrow afternoon, after we have set up our base. The medical mission will start the next day.
We haven't received the deposits yet, so the medicines and the rice are taken on trust agreement, which the lenders are happy to oblige in the spirit of Christmas.
We will keep you posted.
Merry Christmas to you, Father!
I wasn't able to make an e-card this time. Apart from the rush of preparing for the typhoon relief, we had to prepare 7 children for First Communion (thanks be to God, they passed their exams!). Father baptized 6 children after the midnight Mass.
Yours in Mary Immaculate,
Yolly
